Tanagram’s Art Director, Yann Legendre, was one of three designers featured at AIGA Chicago’s Fresh Talent 2007 event. Legendre resisted the temptation of the event’s organizers to reflect on his own place in Chicago design history and, instead, discussed his belief in “design life,” the method he uses for bringing inspiration from outside the design industry to his work as a visual communicator. AIGA Fellow and Medalist, Rick Valicenti of Thirst, moderated the panel discussion, and the day after Fresh Talent proclaimed, “Let me say first thing this morning what a pleasure and privilege it was to provide forum and exposure to Yann. Something tells me that it just might have been a very seminal moment within our design community as his approach is sooooo different and yet so human.” Valicenti went on to tell Lance Rutter, Tanagram’s Creative Director, “Your respect and love for Yann is apparent and together I know you will both lead a new 'expressive' chapter in Chicago's design history.”
