Chicago 2016’s New “World Sport Chicago” Website

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Chicago 2016's New "World Sport Chicago" Website Aims to Develop Aspiring Olympic Athletes

Chicago/Oakbrook Terrace, IL, (29 June 2007) - Tanagram Partners and Geneca announced today their involvement in World Sport Chicago (WSC), the alliance recently formed by The City of Chicago and Chicago 2016 to promote the development of amateur sports and international competition in the Chicagoland area. To demonstrate their enthusiasm for Chicago's 2016 Olympic bid, the firms offered their services pro bono to help WSC develop their branding, community, and website strategy.

According to Pat Ryan, Chicago 2016 Chairman, the mission of WSC is to provide a more coordinated effort to promote amateur sport and athletes across Chicago. The organization is working to enhance the image, awareness and participation in Olympic and amateur sports and represents Chicago's long term commitment to these sports, both before and after the 2016 Olympic Games.

This launch of http://www.worldsportchicago.org represents the start of an online community dedicated to developing Chicago's aspiring Olympic athletes. A major component of WSC's programs is hosting clinics that give youth the opportunity to train with world class athletes and catch the Olympic spirit. Future versions of the site will enable communication and support between parents, teachers, coaches, and professional athletes as they teach and inspire our youth.

"The level of enthusiasm for hosting the 2016 games in Chicago is quite simply amazing and we're honored to be among the local businesses asked to contribute time and talent to help Chicago win," states Geneca Client Partner, Duane Meaux. "We feel that our time in this project is an investment in Chicago's future in many ways. This effort will motivate our youth, bring economic benefits before and after the games, and be an incredible source of pride for everyone who lives here."

"The passion of the Chicago 2016 leadership was so intoxicating it was nearly impossible for us to refuse involvement," said Tanagram Partner's Creative Director, Lance Rutter. "Their steadfast commitment to bring the Olympic games to our world-class city inspires us daily. Through our work with WSC, we want Chicago and the world to know that we believe in the talent of our youth - as well as the power that design has to inspire."

World Sport Chicago was built using scalable Open Source Technology and W3C programming standards. Accessible, fast, and inexpensive to maintain, it is the perfect home for Olympic and Paralympics micro-communities. World Sport Chicago is live now at http://www.worldsportchicago.org.
